Lemon juice for hair growth

There are multiple reasons why you should add lemon juice to your hair regimen. 

Itchy scalp 

There’s nothing as uncomfortable and irritating as an itchy scalp. Lemon juice helps in reducing inflammation. The lemon juice also helps in cleansing the scalp which often leads to itching. 

Just add a few drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice to your shampoo and massage it thoroughly on your scalp for about 10 – 15 minutes. This will help in soothing your scalp. 

Hair Growth 

The vitamin C present in lemon juice stimulates hair growth and improves the rate at which your hair is growing by boosting collagen production. Apply freshly squeezed lemon juice on your scalp and massage it for 5-10 minutes. Rinse and shampoo your hair afterwards. Do not leave the lemon juice on your scalp for too long because it has bleach properties.

Hair loss prevention 

Lemon juice is very rich in citric acid which helps in the prevention of hair loss by strengthening the hair follicles and encouraging new hair growth. It also prevents hair thinning. Mix freshly squeezed lemon juice, an egg yolk, a teaspoon of honey, and a tablespoon of olive oil and apply this to wet hair. Let it stay on for half an hour before rinsing it off.

Oily scalp 

The citric acid in lemon juice helps remove the excess build-up of oil on the scalp and it also helps control the production of oil in the scalp. Mix lemon juice and vinegar in equal amounts and apply on the scalp to help clean clogged follicles

Dandruff Elimination 

When used on the scalp, lemon juice helps unclog the pores around the follicles due to the presence of citric acid which reduces dandruff. The antifungal properties in lemon juice help in keeping the scalp infection-free when used regularly preventing dandruff. Mix lemon juice and vinegar in equal amounts and apply on the scalp to help clear clogged follicles. 

Add shine and luster 

Lemon juice helps in adding shine and luster to hair. Mix lemon juice with apple cider vinegar. Let it sit for a few minutes and rinse it off.
