There are certain habits that drain your energy. Bad habits have a way of draining you. Habits are very important in terms of molding who we are as people. Habits are a determining factor when it comes to a person’s success or failure. Here are some bad habits you should avoid so as to remain productive and energetic.

Sleeping Patterns

Work on a regular sleeping schedule. Your productivity is affected by the number of hours you sleep and the quality of sleep. If you have erratic sleeping patterns your productivity level is automatically low. Bad sleeping habits will not only drain your energy but it’s unhealthy. Make sure you’re getting your beauty sleep in order to be productive. Sleep for a minimum of six hours so as to regenerate your body. You should not be dependent on coffee, it should just be a temporary fix. If you find it hard to fall asleep there are hacks you can adopt so as to have quality sleep. Always stay hydrated to make sure your body is functioning properly. Dehydration can affect your brain function and in turn, affect your productivity. Drinking water can improve your mood and sleep. Dehydration is one of the habits that drain your energy. Drinking water is important so as to replace the bodily fluids your body loses through sweating, urination, and other processes. Dehydration can lead to increased fatigue as well and loss of concentration. Stay hydrated so as to maintain your energy levels.

If you eat junk food or processed and unhealthy foods this could be draining your energy. Healthy food gives you energy as compared to foods with saturated fats and processed sugar. Focus on eating greens as they are loaded with energy. Make a habit of reading your ingredients. When you eat healthily you look better and you feel better.

Holding On To The Past  

The past is just that, the past. What happened already happened, there’s no need to obsess over it. If you keep thinking about the past you’re robbing yourself of the present. Live in the present. Anger and resentment have the same effect on your body that stress has. Resentment and anxiety can cause anxiety, headaches, insomnia, and in some cases depression. Work on your anger issues as they drain your energy and it’s not worth the mental effect they have on you.

Physical Activity

One of the habits that drain your energy is staying stationary. You have to work out or engage in physical activity. Not working out leads to more exhaustion and fatigue due to low energy levels. If you don’t like going to the gym find a physical activity that you like i.e. yoga, dancing walking, skipping the rope. Anything that will help keep your heartbeat elevated will give you energy in the long run.
