No matter how much you take care of your skin blackheads just have a way of showing up. Blackheads are small bumps on hair follicles. They’re caused when oil and sebum block pore skins. It’s very tempting to squeeze it out but it may lead to scarring. Blackheads mostly occur around the nose, forehead, cheeks, and chin area.
Blackheads can be very irritating and annoying to deal with. To help curb blackheads before they even appear, drink lots of water so as to always have hydrated skin. Use a moisturizer with salicylic acid along with these natural home remedies to reduce your blackheads.
Baking Soda to clear blackheads
Baking soda helps neutralize the pH balance of the skin. Mix 2 teaspoons of baking soda in warm water until it forms a paste. Use the paste by gently scrubbing the affected areas. Rinse it off with warm water. Using this paste too many times can cause skin irritation and overdrying of the skin. If you use baking soda make sure you moisturize your skin thoroughly to avoid dry skin.

Sugar Scrub
Sugar is a well-known natural exfoliator and using a sugar scrub on your skin will help reduce the dead skin eventually reducing blackhead formation. It’s also great as it is a humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the air into your skin. Mix coconut oil and sugar to make a scrub and use it on your face as an exfoliator. This will get rid of dead skin while still moisturizing your skin.
Green Tea
Green tea can help in reducing skin oil production not to mention it’s antioxidant properties and anti-inflammatory properties. Reducing oil production reduces sebum production which in turn reduces blackheads. To use green tea on your skin mix 1 tablespoon of dried green tea leaves with 1 tablespoon of water and a few drops of honey and apply it on your skin. Rinse it off with warm water.
Egg Whites
Egg whites can help in tightening of skin pores which reduces the appearance of blackheads. Mix 2 egg whites with 2 teaspoons of lemon water. Apply it gently on your skin and rinse it off after 20 minutes with cold water. You don’t want scrambled eggs on your face. Alternatively you can peel it off your skin like you would a face mask.
Oatmeal
Oatmeal has anti-inflammatory properties and can be used as a natural exfoliator. It can help soak up the excess oil from your skin. Mix 2 tablespoons of oatmeal, 3 tablespoons of plain yogurt and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Mix it well until you get a fine paste. Apply this on to your nose and the most affected area. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water.
